How you will make a difference:
The Construction Supervisor is responsible for leading and supervising operations staff and contractors under the direction of the Director, New Store Openings & Special Projects. This role plans, schedules and executes construction tasks in accordance with the construction schedule and budget and coordination of new store opening projects.
What You’ll Do:
· Create new floor plans, renderings and prototypes for new stores, relocations, remodels and improvement projects
· Work closely with key internal partners to develop and emphasize the brand
· Work closely with construction and landlord representatives to ensure timely project coordination
· Execute scope of work and design requirements
· Prepare and present project proposals to team members for approvals
· Review drawings to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and Company standards and specifications
· Manage outside architects’ and engineers’ performance for all design and construction document production
· Manage project load, which includes project timelines, milestone and completion
· Develop recommendation for design and prototype improvements
· Manage lease-required landlord approval of all construction plans, signage plans etc.
· Work with signage vendors to co-ordinate preparation of sign design and drawings
· Assist with the development of new design projects
· Assist with the design of new fixtures and Company roll outs
· Conduct on-site inspections to ensure project is on schedule
· Monitor progress and provide reports to the Director, New Store Openings & Special Projects
· Review and comment on project plans and specifications regarding building design, scheduling, possible cost savings measures and potential construction issues
· Visit and review potential store locations and complete scope of work
· Establish and implement policies and procedures for quality control
· Oversee purchase orders and payment submissions
· Order fixtures with complete store costing within budget
· Assist in the supervision of the Fixture Department
· Co-ordinate with logistics and transportation regarding new store opening transportation
What You’ll Need:
· Post-secondary education in the area of project and construction management an asset
· Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a store construction role
· Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project, Adobe Suites
· AutoCad preferred, but not required
· Bilingual French an asset
