Job Functions
- Ensure all electrical power needs for operations and the facility are in working order
- Repair, install and troubleshoot CNC and other numerically controlled industrial machines
- Able to evaluate, prepare and execute personal preventative and predictive maintenance schedules
- Troubleshooting/repairing/installing of wood processing equipment with a working knowledge of PLC’s, VFD’s, Servos, electrical schematics, etc. to allow efficient repair/replacement
- Plan, organize & perform assigned tasks in sequence with minimum supervision & direction
- Identify and report hazards and fulfill all Health & Safety, WHMIS, MSDS, and company policy requirements
- Become an active participant & contributor to the continuous improvement process at Knoll
- Must be able to handle a very fast-paced working environment
- Follow shop floor controls
- Ability to read and follow work instruction
- Perform required quality inspections
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Able to take the initiative to solve problems, where appropriate
- Must be willing to cross-train in various areas of the department as required
- Follow all Knoll safety policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Participate and maintain 5S TPM and LOTO in the workplace
- Maintain and follow the ISO standard operating procedures
- Ability to work in a multi-shift environment including flexible hours and weekends
- Participate in and contribute to the continuous improvement process
Education Requirement
- Licensed Industrial Electrician (Red Seal #442A), certified to work in Ontario
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to communicate in English (both oral and written)
Experience requirement
- Minimum 3-5 years of related experience
- Strong knowledge of electronic controls, pneumatics and hydraulics, and hands on experience with high speed machines required
- Be able to resolve electrical problems logically, demonstrate machine flow
- Experience in a manufacturing plant environment
- Working knowledge of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo preferred)
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, OEM manuals and related technical data
- Intermediate to advanced PLC, VFD, CNC and servo systems knowledge
- Knowledge of LOTO protocol
