POSITION SUMMARY:
Consultants enjoy the opportunity to regularly communicate with clients and relevant authorities by email or telephone, while also ensuring that strict deadlines are adhered to. - To undertake all other reasonable duties as requested
- Undertake advisory role with corporate clients under supervision of Lawyers
- Draft and review application packages for categories of applications ranging from LMIA and IMP work permits to Provincial Nominee and Federal permanent resident categories.
- Monitor application deadlines and completing assigned work within the appropriate timeframes.
- Using sound judgement in assessing client risk and escalating potential issues to senior management in a timely manner.
- Taking care to consider alternatives and delivering appropriate decisions with minimal senior management involvement.
- Monitoring visa expiry dates and alerting the client appropriately.
- Ensuring that the appropriate client records are established and maintained and that key correspondence and documentation is saved into the client e-file.
- Ensuring that all work undertaken is in scope, is billed promptly on completion, and that additional fees are agreed in advance for additional services.
- Ensuring that use of the corporate credit card is recorded in an accurate and timely fashion on the spread sheet to facilitate accurate billing.
- Working with professionalism, honesty and integrity maintaining confidentiality at all times and to model the company values.
- Ensuring the client receives appropriate news up-dates and alerts.
- To contribute to articles for publication in newsletters, external publications
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carrying out volume corporate immigration client management and casework for Canada.
- Listens intently to the client needs to ensure that these needs are met and anticipating customer needs, offering pro-active advice. Remaining up-dated on industry events/circumstances that may be relevant to the client.
- Communicating regularly with clients to build a strong relationship while focusing on business needs and ensuring that client service review meetings are held regularly, with formal agendas and presentations
- Effectively manages time prioritizing, identify and addressing critical tasks, while remaining flexible to changing priorities.
- Using exceptional organizational skills to meet or exceed customer expectations (including where SLAs are in place). Responding to email and telephone enquiries in a timely manner and ensuring that advice is comprehensive and accurate, managing expectations where needed and escalating issues promptly and appropriately.
- Utilizing resources and researches complex cases/scenarios.
- Recommending improvements in work procedures, policies or systems in area of assigned responsibility.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC)
- Fluent, verbal and written in English
- Fluent, verbal and written in French is an asset
- 3+ Years of experience handling Canadian corporate immigration cases
WORKING CONDITIONS/LOCATION:
- Office environment: exposure to computer screens, interaction with others in a remote office environment
- This position would be remote to start and may transition to Hybrid
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Visual acuity; ability to view computer screen for full shift, approximately eight hours
- Sitting for extended period of time
- Manual dexterity for operating a computer, keyboard and mouse
- Speaking for operating a phone with ability to convey detailed information accurately and clearly
- Light lifting (no more than 25 pounds)
