The HR Assistant/Recruitment Coordinator will report to the Senior Human Resources Advisor and will be responsible for providing day-to-day support to the Human Resources (HR) team and assist the Human Resources Associate and Assistant with client facing duties. The primary scope of work includes, but is not limited to:
recruitment and selection (60%);
administration (30%) and;
employee onboarding (10%).
The incumbent will play a critical role in ensuring that seasonal recruitment goals are met, delivering superb customer service to our clients, and supporting departmental programs and policies.
RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION
Completes full cycle recruitment functions for seasonal and other roles, including the collection of internal requisitions, creating and postings jobs, prescreening applicants on the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), generation of employment contracts, and coordination of third-party background screenings.
Supports annual seasonal recruitment strategies; including coordinating and participating in local and post-secondary school job fairs
Researches and recommends new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting
Posts openings on websites, social media, newspapers, professional organizations, and in other position appropriate venues
Leads the creation of a recruiting and interviewing plan for each open position which could include development of specific interview questions and interviewing candidates
Assists portfolio managers with reports and data compilation as required.
Facilitates new hire orientations independently and with the Human Resources Associate
HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATION
Completes HRIS data entry, including but not limited to new hires, salary changes, termination, status changes, address changes, training and disciplinary records etc.
Administers the employee recognition (High Five) program, which includes keeping a log of all points and awards issued, holding draws for quarterly prizes and assisting with organizing celebrations
A relevant college diploma or university degree in Human Resources or Employee Relations or equivalent is preferred
Incumbent should be working towards completion of the Certified Human Resources Professional/Leader (CHRP/L)
A minimum of one (1) year of related experience in recruitment, employee relations, employee engagement programs, hospitality and tourism and/or Human Resources
Light to infrequently moderate physical effort; Requires handling of light and moderate weight objects including office equipment and other office supplies.
