Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.
As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.
The project will strengthen Ontario’s economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.
What is the project?
- A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).
- Stations:
- One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.
- Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
- Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).

Job Description
The position of Quality Inspector Co-op is to assist the Ontario Transit Group Construction Quality team in ensuring satisfactory Quality Recording of construction work and materials inspection & testing for the Ontario Line South Project.
- Assist the Quality Inspectors in verifying and confirming that the work at site is being progressed as per the reviewed Issued for Construction drawings, shop drawings, Work method statements, Construction Quality Management Plan (CQMP) and respective Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Ensure line items in the ITPs are signed off in real-time and ensure all supporting documents are made available as soon as a line activity is completed.
- Ensure ITPs are documented and closed on the dedicated Electronic Document Management System and database as soon as activities in the ITPs are complete.
- Coordinate with third party testing companies to schedule inspection and testing activities of construction materials.
- Assist the Quality Inspectors in ensuring all materials brought to the site are complying with the project requirements.
- Assist the Quality Inspectors in initiating Non-Conformance Report (NCR) for any work or material fail to satisfy project requirements.
- Liaise with the relevant teams to provide proposed action to rectify the identified NCRs and follow up to close NCRs within the stipulated timeline.
- Attend site specific meetings.
- Feedback and communicate on internal and external alerts or good practices relating to Quality, to implement quality culture on the project.
- Monitor actual work progress with the schedule and coordinate with Quality Supervisors if any delays are observed.
- Other ad hoc tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in relevant program, such as Civil Engineering/ Technologist / Construction Management.
- Prior experience or knowledge in Quality Management or Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) is an asset.
- Document management software: SharePoint, ACC, BIM360, ProjectWise, Dalux, and Procore is an asset.
- Prior working experience with Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications (OPSS), Canadian Standards Association (CSA), American Concrete Institute (ACI) specifications, TTC & Metrolinx specifications and Construction Administration and Inspection Task Manual is an asset.
- Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset; you embrace challenges!

- Ability to work independently while also thriving in a team environment; you're adaptable!
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy; you ensure nothing is overlooked.

- Valid G driver’s license is an asset.
