Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.
As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.
The project will strengthen Ontario’s economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.
What is the project?
- A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).
- Stations:
- One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.
- Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
- Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).

Job Description
The Yard Coordinator is responsible for the logistics and operations within the yard, including managing the booking system for OTG Hydrovac trucks and Sweeper units from each station, as well as overseeing fuel management between stations and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure a high standard of safety at any time, strong safety culture.
- Coordinate and schedule Hydrovac and Sweeper’s services internally from each station to ensure efficient operations.
- Oversee fuel management between stations and vendors, ensuring timely delivery and optimal fuel levels.
- Liaise with team to understand upcoming deliveries. Conduct inventory counts, manage inventory records, and pull items from inventory to deliver to sites as needed.
- Maintain relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery of necessary supplies and equipment.
- Follow up on breakdowns, ensure daily preventative maintenance tasks are performed, and confirm winterization of equipment is completed.
- Ensure pre-start meeting at the beginning of the shift is well explained to all workers, drivers, operators including all safety matters.
- Ensure compliance with traffic laws, regulations, and company policies regarding transportation and safety.
- Flexible to work day and night shifts to support warehouse operations and maintain control overnight.
Reporting
- Ensure daily pre-start is performed on site.
- Ensure all supporting documentation related to transportation (hours of service, vehicle inspections, delivery docket, receipt voucher, etc.) are sign clearly be receiver and copy is sent to Fleet Manager at the end of each shift.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience in coordinating yard operations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
