Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with varying needs, including those with disabilities, dementia, and other health challenges. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively in both home care and nursing home environments.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
- Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
- Support individuals with mobility challenges, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement personalized care plans.
- Document client progress and report any changes in health or behavior to the appropriate personnel.
- Engage clients in social activities and encourage participation in community events.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving, nursing home settings, or home care is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is a plus.
- Ability to administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility needs.
- A compassionate approach towards working with persons with disabilities.
- Certification or training in relevant fields (e.g., nursing assistant) is advantageous but not mandatory.
