Position Overview:
We are seeking a personable, professional, and organized Host to join our team at a high-end Mediterranean restaurant located in the heart of Toronto. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming and luxurious dining experience, setting the tone for an unforgettable visit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Reception:
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival with a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Confirm reservations and guide guests to their tables promptly.
- Provide information about the restaurant’s menu, concept, and ambiance as needed.
- Seating Management:
- Manage the seating chart efficiently to maximize table turnover while maintaining a smooth flow of service.
- Coordinate with servers and management to accommodate special seating requests.
- Monitor the dining area to ensure guests are seated promptly.
- Reservations & Waitlist:
- Handle reservation inquiries via phone, email, or online platforms with exceptional professionalism.
- Accurately record guest preferences, including special occasions, dietary needs, or accessibility requirements.
- Maintain the waitlist and communicate expected wait times effectively.
- Ambiance & Cleanliness:
- Ensure the entrance and host stand are tidy and inviting at all times.
- Collaborate with the management team to maintain the upscale ambiance of the restaurant.
- Guest Relations:
- Address guest inquiries or concerns courteously and promptly, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Build rapport with regular guests to enhance customer loyalty.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the restaurant team to ensure seamless communication between the front and back of house.
- Support the team during peak hours, including assisting with coat check or other front-of-house duties as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience as a host or in a customer-facing role, ideally in a fine-dining or upscale restaurant environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to remain composed under pressure.
- Knowledge of reservation management systems (e.g., OpenTable or Resy) is an asset.
- Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay: $17.20 per hour
