About the job:
In this role on the People Development Team you will be responsible for the oversight and execution for programs (Employee Recognition, Onboarding, and Mentoring) and key Employee Events. Each program requires the following accountabilities o Program planning and operations o Development of tools and resources for end users o Recommend program modifications for continuous improvement o Track and report on program outcomes and efficacy o Subject matter expertise on recognition, onboarding and mentoring best practices and industry trends o Ensure alignment with other programs and HR’s focus for the fiscal year
What you’ll do
* Employee Recognition primary duties:
- Executing our length of service awards (including project and event management of the quarter century banquet)
- Administration of our safety recognition program
- Project Planning & preparation for special projects
- Develop subject matter expertise in survey best practices, tools and administration practices
- Collaborate with Communications on program communication planning and alignment with Hydro Hurrahs
* Employee Onboarding/Off-boarding primary duties:
- Coordinate and facilitate new hire sessions
- Shift program offering to reflect HR and business priorities
- Execute off-boarding process
- Process and present data from onboarding and off-boarding program.
* Mentoring primary duties:
- Centrally support each business group’s Mentor Champions
- Triage new mentoring requests and inquiries
- Guide the evolution of the program with the support of the mentor champion community
* Employee Event Management primary duties:
- Develop, oversee and execute event plans for the following employee engagement-related events:
o Take Our Kids to Work Day
o Quarter Century Banquet
o BC Hydro Awards
o Other events, as required
What you bring
* A Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related discipline (or an equivalent combination of experience and education)
* Minimum of 5-7 years progressive HR experience that includes HR program development and management
* HR Program development and implementation experience
* Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills and the ability to work effectively with various levels of the organization
* Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
* Demonstrated event management skills and the ability to organize event teams and execute an event plan
* Demonstrated Project Management skills
* Knowledge of BC Hydro’s culture (ideal)
* Strong research and analytical skills
* Technical experience in working with online applications – including SAP
* A high degree of discretion in handling confidential information
