About The Position
This position is responsible for assisting in the recruiting process, administrative functions, employee relations, and employee communications for the ALS Human Resource Department.

Specific Responsibilities
- Assists in the response to routine calls & e-mails from employees;
- Responds to and complete requests for information from outside sources (including reference checks, personnel file requests, wage information, etc.);
- Responsible for supporting recruitment;
- Adheres to the policies, procedures, and standards relating to recruitment ensuring consistency within ALS;
- Support with offer letters to candidates when necessary;
- Coordinates new hire orientation program;
- Maintains and updates all employee files;
- Ensures that all Human Resource forms, policies, manuals, etc. are up-to-date;
- Assists in organizing employee relations events, internal employee communications, and HR intranet content;
- Supports organizational development initiatives including orientation programs and performance reviews;
- May assist with other Human Resources projects;
- Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;
- Ensure all invoices are coded correctly and sent to the finances department for payment;
- Support the Sr HR Generalist on recognition and reward programs;
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong customer service focus, interpersonal and organizational abilities;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality;
- Demonstrated judgment, creativity, integrity, critical thinking and ability to problem-solve;
- Strong communication skills; written and verbal;
- Advanced computer skills including MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio;
- Ability to effectively handle escalations and time-critical issues.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a diploma or university degree or equivalent is preferred;
- Previous customer service or office administration experience is an asset.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities;
- Ability to use and view a computer screen for up to 8 hours per day;
- Ability to communicate via telephone and e-mail without assistance

- Hourly Range - An estimated hourly pay ranging from $24.07-$25.28 at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
