Duration: 5 months contract (February-June) with potential for permanent role starting in September.
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week on site

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated MSW Social Worker to join our school-based team.
Position Overview:
LFT’s Social Worker is pivotal in supporting mental health and well-being of our students by providing student counseling, guidance and education to teachers, and connecting students and families with valuable community resources.
The ideal candidate will have specialized experience working with children and adolescents, empowering them with coping mechanisms, and fostering a positive and supportive school environment. Proficiency in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and the ability to integrate other therapeutic modalities into treatment plans are essential for this role.
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATION: This is a brand new role and as such the successful candidate will need to be able to work completely independently to establish their school practice and provide recommendations to the LFT management on the best approach to achieve the school's goals in regards to the students’ mental health support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and establish the mental health support program for LFT students
- Provide individual and group counseling to students facing emotional, social, or behavioral challenges, and develop tailored intervention plans.
- Teach coping mechanisms and tools to help students manage stress, anxiety, and other mental health concerns.
Qualifications:
- Master of Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in child and adolescent-focused social work, preferably in a school or similar setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in conducting crisis intervention and case management
- Proficiency in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with experience applying it in practice.
- Ability to integrate other therapeutic modalities, such as trauma-informed care, mindfulness, or solution-focused brief therapy, into treatment plans.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, adept at collaborating effectively with a diverse range of students, families, and school staff.
- Bilingual abilities in French and English would be considered an asset
