Job description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate behavioral therapist to provide applied behavior analysis [ABA] therapy to children with autism in a school setting. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, school staff, and families to implement individualized behavioral intervention plans [BIPs] and promote positive outcomes for students.

Key responsibilities:

Therapy implementation:

Deliver ABA therapy sessions to students in accordance with their individualized treatment plans, targeting skill acquisition, behavioral reduction and communication goals.

Behavior support:

Monitor, manage and intervene in challenging behaviors using ABA principles and proactive strategies while maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment.

Data Collection:

Collect and maintain accurate data on students’ progress, behaviors, and program implementation to access to assess the effectiveness of interventions.

Collaboration:

Work closely with board certified behavioral analysts [BCBAs], (as well as other professionals e.g.: psychologists, speech/language and occupational therapists, teachers, school staff), and families to ensure consistent application of behavioral support strategies across settings.

Skill development:

Support students in developing life skills, social interactions, academic engagement and functional communication tailored to their needs.

Professional conduct:

Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality in line with professional guidelines and policies fostering trust and professionalism in all interactions.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent minimally required. A Bachelors degree in psychology, education or related field preferred.

Certification:

Registered behavioral technician [RBT] certification would be considered an asset.

Experience:

- Prior experience working with children with autism or other developmental disabilities,

particularly in a school or educational setting is highly desirable.

- Strong understanding of ABA principles and techniques.

- Excellent communication observation and problem solving skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

- Patience, empathy and passion for supporting children with special needs.
