Job Description: On behalf of our client, Affinity Group is looking for an Intermediate Backend Developer for a 12 month contract. Candidates must be located in the Lower Mainland and have the ability to work on site in Vancouver 3 days per week
Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and motivated Intermediate Backend Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend development with expertise in C#, Azure, .NET, and SQL. This role involves developing, optimizing, and maintaining robust backend systems to support our business objectives and deliver seamless experiences to our users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs using C# and .NET frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and stakeholders, to gather requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Implement and manage cloud-based solutions on Microsoft Azure, including deploying applications, managing resources, and ensuring scalability.
- Optimize database performance and write complex SQL queries to support application functionality.
- Debug and resolve technical issues, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability of backend systems.
- Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and adhere to best practices in software development.
- Maintain documentation for code, architecture, and development processes.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and propose improvements to existing systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of professional experience in backend development using C#, .NET, and SQL.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Functions, App Services, and SQL Databases.
- Strong understanding of database design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Proficiency in designing and building RESTful APIs.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in an Agile/Scrum environment.
