Home Support Workers (HSWs) provide professional and compassionate care in homes and residences in the community. HSWs assist our clients and families with a variety of daily activities, including light housekeeping, allowing them to live life to the fullest, with dignity and independence.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Dusting, Mopping, Vacuuming.
- Cleaning of the kitchen, bathroom, and other living areas.
- Washing dishes, making beds, and doing laundry.
- Light meals preparation and grocery shopping.
- Monitor client’s well-being and informs supervisor of any changes or incidents.
- Work with limited supervision and as part of a team of health care professionals.
- Travel to client’s home daily to perform services for the agency clients.
- Perform other duties as required.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Experience in cleaning services.
- Experience working with a vulnerable population is preferred
- Physical ability to perform light cleaning (e.g. washing floors, dusting, laundry) and knowledge of basic health and safety standards.
- Knowledge of routine precautions required for cleanliness and disinfecting and for the control of the spread of communicable diseases (IPAC).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Current Vulnerable Sector Police check required completed within last 12 months is required
- Immunization for tuberculosis, chickenpox, mumps and hepatitis B is strongly urged.
- Access to a reliable vehicle is preferred
- Current First AID & CPR Certification is required.
- Fluency in a second language such as Italian, Spanish is an asset.
- Mandatory COVID -19 vaccination required.
