Position Title: Business Development Representative (Healthcare)
Location: Vancouver, or Victoria, BC
Job Type: Full Time Permanent
Position Summary: Reporting to the Business Development Sales Manager, or designate. The Business Development Representative (Healthcare) will be accountable for the success of the Health Care Sales Segment at Centennial Food Solutions. They will achieve this through driving growth in sales at targeted margin levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive growth in the Health Care Sales Segment and support overall growth of Centennial Food Solutions.
- Develop and manage relationships of Key Accounts and Contract Customer groups.
- Develop and maintain business in area of operations such as retirement living, seniors living, long term care, and general health care centres.
- Seek out and build partnerships with key customers, suppliers and industry participants.
- Develop and manage annual business forecasts, plans and budgets for territory activities and programs.
- Monitor financial results and use as a tool to achieve company and client objectives.
- Plan and conduct activities and sales programs to drive growth in the segment.
- Train, develop, and mentor Sales Representatives on healthcare industry, business strategies and consultative sales.
- Travel with Sales teams to support, guide and direct segment-related plans. (approx. 2 weeks/month).
- Work as a team member with Centennial management and peers to develop both distributive and non- distributive Centennial health care segment sales strategies.
- Coordinate customer support utilizing corporate and regional resources.
- Engage in industry trade shows and industry association activities.
- Ensure accurate and timely administration and reporting for all activities in your area of responsibility.
- Maintain records to comply with Centennial Food Solutions policies, and government standards.
- Ensure compliance with Marketing and Human Resources Programs.
- Deliver planned results and expand the segment.
- Additional duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply chain management, or a related field, or a combination of work experience and education will be considered.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and food safety standards (CFIA, HACCP, GMP, etc.).
- Proven experience (3-5+ years) of progressive sales experience in a similar sized operation.
- Proven experience (3-5+ years) in healthcare industry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong leadership, teaching/coaching and organization skills.
- Strong knowledge of Excel/PowerPoint considered an asset.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, customers, colleagues and staff.
- Ability and willingness for regular travel.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
