Casual Position (part time and full time opportunities may be available)
The Personal Support Worker must embrace a person-centred approach that values the principles of respect, dignity, and compassion. The incumbent is responsible for providing 1-1 support to the individual in both the home and community environment. Key requirements of this position are:
- To assist the individual directly in his physical, emotional, social, and daily life skills.
- To adhere to all communicative, behavioural, health, physical practices, and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the individual being served.
- To complete all administrative and reporting procedures related to the position.
- For designated Drivers - Driving individual in community to social, recreational, and attending health related appointments.
- To actively follow established routines and protocols including and not limited to health and safety, emergency, general health, and safety practices.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Completion of a post-secondary education in the human services or related field. Vulnerable Sector Screening, Valid First Aid and CPR, CPI or Safe Management, For Drivers a Valid Driver’s license with good track record.
Preferred Skills
At least five years direct experiencing supporting individuals in the developmental disability or mental health field, experience and knowledge of challenging behaviour, Autism Spectrum Disorder and applied behaviour analysis, ability to work with a partner and in a team environment, good oral, and written English.
Additional Notes
Experience working with individual with vision related challenges would be considered an asset. This is a physically demanding position; the incumbent must be physical fit and in good health.

Sunday Rate of Pay $23. Hour.
