Are you looking for a role where you can bring your department’s standard operational procedures to life and contribute to a high functioning LCBO Customs and Traffic team? Reporting to the Operations Analyst, providing operational support by performing administrative duties associated with routing, tracking, customs and excise accounting, and freight payments. You will enable goods to flow efficiently and economically to LCBO facilities, by supporting and reporting on transportation, customs accounting, and freight payment related activities. You will coordinate and process required documentation to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) for accounting of all LCBO alcoholic and unsolicited goods.
If you are a highly analytical thinker, who is adept with the Microsoft suite of applications, particularly Excel, and has an inquisitive nature, always seeking to continuously improve their own skills and knowledge base, then this is the role for you!
About The Role
- Expeditious data entry as support in customs administration function
- Audit soft-copy forms and identify non-compliant records
- Perform quality checks on data entered making appropriate corrections when needed
- Perform a variety of administrative duties as needed (filing, scanning, photocopying, hard copy back-up retrieval, maintain department files)
- Research and respond to standard global trade information requests in a professional manner
- Prioritize and complete work according to project demands, customs compliance requirements, and other departmental needs
- Professional and courteous participation with other team members in support of day-to-day operations of the team, including setting priorities, and organizing and scheduling work
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
- Adhere to established company and union policies and procedures
About You
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Possess a high level of self-motivation, rigid attention to detail, comfort with strict deadlines, excellent problem- solving self-sufficiency, and enjoys engaging with various business partners.
- Completion of CITT-Certified Logistics Professional (CCLP) designation, Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation preferred, or minimally – enrollment in a customs/trade compliance or supply chain post-secondary program
- Prior experience in a customs or transportation related role highly valued
