We are looking for a full-time Respiratory Therapist to work as a permanent employee of Campbellford Memorial Hospital. The position start date is March 1, 2025.
Campbellford Memorial Hospital is located in Campbellford, Ontario. They have a 34-bed in-patient unit, Emergency Department, Day Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory and more. They serve the area between Peterborough and Belleville, providing the only Hospital between these two larger centres. Campbellford is a small, picturesque town in the heart of the municipality of Trent Hills. Salary: $36.45-$51.41
Schedule: Monday to Friday, on-call
Expected hours: 37.5 hours per week

Qualifications:
- Diploma in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program
- Professional registration in good standing with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO)
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is an asset
- Experience with critical care and emergency situations
- Pulmonary function testing experience
- Knowledge of anesthesia equipment an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer skills, knowledge of the electronic health records system EPIC (preferred), Microsoft Office, and PACs
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment using excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize duties
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with patients, staff and physicians
- Demonstrates an understanding of ethical behaviours and confidentiality requirement in a health care institution
- Demonstrate willingness to continually upgrade skills and be active in the continual development of Respiratory Services
- Ability to represent the Hospital with professionalism and compassion for patients and families
Job Summary:
- The Respiratory Therapist will be required to work independently as the expert in respiratory therapy at Campbellford Memorial Hospital
- Identify urgent medical conditions within your scope of practice for immediate attention by the appropriate physician
- Perform pulmonary diagnostics within scope of professional practice, including pulmonary function testing
- Provide therapeutic interventions including:
- Sleep therapy (CPAP, BiPAP)
- Airway management
- Bronchodilator and inhaled medication therapy
- Oxygen and medical gas therapy
- Provide applicable education to patients on their diagnosis and treatment
- Ability to assess, evaluate and communicate appropriate Respiratory Therapy Care Plans using knowledge of respiratory mechanics and medical gas delivery devices and indications, contra-indications and hazards of therapy
