Position Summary:
The Director of Sales plays a vital role in driving the sales function of an organization and is responsible for creating a high-performance sales team. By developing effective strategies, optimizing sales processes, and fostering collaboration, the Director of Sales contributes to the company's overall growth and success. This position will also oversee the sales management for the liquid, hazardous, and oil reclamation waste divisions, ensuring sustainable and efficient management in these critical areas.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement effective sales strategies and plans to meet the company's revenue objectives. Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and create winning sales strategies.
- Sales Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team, including account executives, and sales representatives. Set sales targets, monitor performance, provide coaching, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Sales Forecasting and Planning: Work closely with the finance and marketing teams to develop accurate sales forecasts and budgets. Monitor sales metrics, analyze results, and make data-driven decisions to optimize sales performance.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and market segments to expand the company's customer base. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry influencers.
- Sales Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve the sales process, including lead generation, qualification, and conversion. Streamline sales operations, implement sales automation tools, and ensure efficient use of resources to maximize sales productivity.
- Sales Performance Analysis: Track and analyze sales metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess individual and team performance. Provide regular sales reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
- Sales Training and Development: Identify training needs and provide ongoing sales training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of the sales team. Stay updated with industry trends, sales techniques, and product knowledge to ensure sales effectiveness.
- Collaboration and Communication: Foster collaboration and cross-functional alignment with other departments such as marketing, product development, and customer service. Ensure effective communication channels to share market insights, customer feedback, and sales updates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred)
- Proven experience in sales management
- 2-5 years' experience in the liquid hazardous waste industry
- Able to travel between locations Barrie, Cobourg & Etobicoke
- Strong track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth
- In-depth knowledge of sales strategies, techniques, and best practices
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and metrics
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Strong business acumen and market awareness
- Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools
