Role Summary
The Warehouse and Assembly Specialist is a key hands-on role that combines inventory management, shipping and receiving, mechanical assembly, and technical fabrication. The role involves coordinating and maintaining warehouse operations, supporting the assembly and testing of equipment, and ensuring smooth packing and shipping processes. The Specialist plays a vital role in upholding quality standards, safety protocols, and efficient workflows.
Essential Responsibilities
· Warehouse Operations
o Maintain and stock inventory, track monthly logs, and utilize inventory management software.
o Prepare shipments, including incoming and outgoing packaging.
o Assemble shipping crates and ensure compliance with client packing specifications.
o Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe.
o Generate monthly and custom inventory reports.
· Assembly and Testing
o Perform electrical and mechanical assembly of equipment, including mounting components and wiring electrical/control panels.
o Conduct point-to-point wiring for motors, interfaces, and instrumentation.
o Troubleshoot wiring errors and component malfunctions; maintain red-line drawings.
o Disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment for shipment.
o Build and test pneumatic (e.g. air injectors) and related components.
o Support technical solutions, including computing, networking, and instrumentation setup.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous warehouse experience is an asset.
- Experience with power tools and technical assembly is an asset.
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical tools is desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working with computing and networking fundamentals.
- Ability to lift heavy shipments (50+ lbs.).
- Forklift license or certification is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license is an asset.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours as needed.
- Eager to learn new technologies (e.g., networking, OPC communications).
- Multilingual skills (Spanish and/or Portuguese) are an asset.
- Experience in industrial or metal and mining environments is desirable.
