Junior Accountant (18-month Contract)
The Junior Accountant will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities:
· Assist with the preparation of financial statements, reports, and general ledger entries.
· Process invoices, receipts, and other financial transactions.
· Assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly financial reports.
· Help with accounts payable and accounts receivable management, ensuring timely payments and collections.
· Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
· Collaborate with the team and other departments to resolve discrepancies or financial issues.
· Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
· Provide general administrative support to the accounting department as needed.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
· Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial practices.
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, MBC, or similar).
· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
· A proactive and team-oriented attitude.
Preferred Skills:
· Knowledge of MBC (Microsoft Business Central) systems or similar ERP systems is an asset.
· Some hands-on experience or internships in accounting.
· Knowledge of financial reporting and basic tax regulations.
· Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems.

This is an 18-month position with a possible extension to the end date.

Pay: $48,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
