Summary
As a Landscape Construction Estimator, you will be integral to our project management team, responsible for accurately assessing project costs and ensuring competitive pricing. Your core skills in construction estimating and pricing will guide your evaluations, while your premium skills in negotiation and proficiency with tools will enhance your effectiveness. Strong time management and communication skills are essential as you collaborate with various stakeholders to deliver precise estimates that align with our organizational goals. Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs including all labour material and equipment cost
- Respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely fashion
- Co-ordinate subcontractor submissions, during the tendering process via phone in a professional and courteous manner
- Identify local subcontractors and suppliers, solicit quotes and prepare comparison sheets
- Co-ordinate field visits to qualify information
- Coordinating submission of tender documents
- Review RFP’s and contractual documents and prepare cost proposals and final tender documents for clients within given time frames
- Preparation of project binders – maintain all supporting documentation around estimates
- Tracking of site instruction and change orders
- Prepare shop drawings as required
- Complete project on time and under budget
- Good work ethic, punctual and dependable
Requirements:
- Ability to be a visible team-player and have excellent interpersonal skills
- Able to assume responsibility and follow direction
- Familiar with the bidding process, self-motivated and strong negotiator
- Completion of relevant college or university programs, preferably in Landscape Architecture
- Minimum 3 years of relevant Landscape Construction experience
- Solid understanding of Landscape industry and materials
- Able to interpret landscape drawings
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines
- Effective decision-making skills
- Strong organizational skills to handle multiple deadlines
- Able to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment and adapt to changes
- Excellent time-management skills
