The Children's Orthotics Clinic at SickKids hospital is offering a contract Non-Certified Orthotist position. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in a multidisciplinary fast- paced environment. The programs that our Orthotics team specializes in and supports here at Sick Kids are the:
- Scoliosis program
- Limb lengthening program
- Cranial facial program
- Burn management
- Clubfoot management
- Development dysplasia of the hip clinic
- Spinal muscular atrophy
- Inpatient care (post-operative and trauma)
The Children's Orthotics Clinic supports acute and ambulatory care at SickKids as well outpatient care in our community. The type of orthotic management our Orthotic team supports in the community are:
- Helmet therapy for positional plagiocephaly/brachycephaly
- FO/AFO/KAFO's for a variety of different pediatric populations
- Pectus bracing
The Children's Orthotics Clinic places a high value on improving best practices for orthotic management and leading our field into the future of technology by utilizing scanning technology, CAD/CAM and currently developing 3D printing practices.

Here's What You'll Get To Do
- Utilize scanning technology for shape capture
- Utilize CAD software for rectification
- Participate in research opportunities
- Travel for educational purposes to maintain best practice guidelines within our field
- Be apart of the educational team for the Clinical Methods spinal course
- Collaborate directly with physicians, physiotherapists, and occupational therapist within a variety of outpatient clinics.
- Perform a comprehensive assessment of children who have musculo-skeletal, neurological and/or gross motor impairments
- Develop an orthotic care plan in collaboration with the child/family
Here's What You'll Need
- Credentials must be in accordance with Orthotics Prothetics Canada Residency
- Must have graduated from an accredited College in Prosthetics and Orthotics.
- Demonstrated commitment to research and training as well as continuing education are assets
- A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity & inclusion
