DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Stock/Stage Materials (all lines)
- Receiving per procedure
- Shipping per procedure
- Warehouse organization
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gather all materials required for production, making sure they are on hand and in place for start of production (Ingredients, Baking pans, Packaging, Case boxes, Accents, etc), with continual replenishment/daily
- Track progress on packing/shipping of web and dropship orders, flagging any issues
- Receive and put away incoming shipments following FIFO, per procedure
- Organize and maintain warehouse following 5S rules
- Ensure required quantities of inventory are maintained
- Maintain safety stock inventory
- Keep all lines running with replenishment of materials and tools as needed (ex: refilling supplies such as hairnets, aprons, soap), ensuring clean baking pans, replenishing stock areas, etc.
- Shipping per procedure
- Work on production lines as required
- Vemag set up
- Cleaning back up / corrective actions stemming from pre-operational inspections
- Warehouse transfer arrangements/cartage
- Report any food safety, quality or food defense concerns
Health and Safety
- Understand and follow Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) program
- Support implementation of food safety and regulatory requirements
- FSQA program activities as assigned (ex: logs, reports, meetings)
- Report any food safety, quality or food defense concerns
Other Duties
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS:
- Key metrics include material availability in production area and knowledge of the warehouse organization.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent communicator (written and oral)
- Sound mathematical abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and perform job duties in an accurate and efficient manner
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Trained on using pump trucks is an asset
- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA)
- Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, Outlook)
- Proven effectiveness working as part of a diverse team
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to work and stand for long hours - approximately three (3) consecutive hours of standing
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs on a regular basis
- Manual dexterity for forming, packing and accenting cookies is required
- ·Temperatures that may be considered above “room temperature” and not to exceed 26C
- Intermittent loud sounds lasting approximately 20 minutes at a time throughout the day (compressor machinery). Ear protection is provided when on the loading dock
- Smells include butter, sugar, chocolate, maple syrup, nuts. Must be free from allergies to any of these product
- Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends if needed (frequently happens September - December)
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a food manufacturing environment, preferably in gourmet food and baked goods/cookies, bakery/kitchen experience/commercial baking experience
- Previous shipping/receiving and warehouse management experience is an asset
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Please note, this position is located at our production site at 80 Galaxy Boulevard, Toronto, Ontario. You must be able to work on site.
