The mission of the Business Finance Department is to maximize Aritzia’s financial performance and drive business objectives through strategic financial insight.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Aritzia is growing, and our Business Finance team is growing with it. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the team responsible for producing insightful financial analysis, effectively managing Aritzia’s financial assets and providing senior leadership with the required information and analysis to make informed business decisions. As the Intern, Business Finance, you will support Aritzia’s future growth by providing strategic and innovative financial insights and solutions to support the growing business. Our goal is that you will come out of your internship inspired, with meaningful experience and an enhanced skill set you can carry forward into your bright future.
THE ROLE
As the Intern, Business Finance, you will support with:
- Forecasting sales and/or business expenses in the short and long term, simultaneously analyzing and explaining key drivers of future growth
- Understanding and analyzing business results including the internal (business-driven) and external (macroeconomic) drivers for P&L line items
- Supporting our business partners with financial analysis, insights, and go-forward recommendations on sales events, special projects, and business initiatives
- Identifying opportunities for smart spend management through informed and fact-based business decisions
- Providing our business partners and Aritzia Leadership Team with timely and accurate reporting on performance results, calling out key highlights, risks, and opportunities
THE QUALIFICATIONS
The Intern, Business Finance, has:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution, with a preferred graduation date of April 2025 or April 2026
- Preferably pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
- A commitment to learn and apply Aritzia's Values and Business and People Leadership principles
- The ability to collaborate fluently with cross-functional partners
- A commitment to quality and investing in results that add value to the business
- Passion for Aritzia and the fashion industry
- Skills and experience with Excel are an asset
- A logical, organized approach with an appreciation for structure and details
- A problem solver who thinks critically to develop insightful solutions
- Work experience in Aritzia Boutiques, Concierge, or Distribution Centres is highly valued
WHY BUSINESS FINANCE?
Business Finance offers you the ability to understand the Key Drivers and KPIs in the business and how we leverage and use them to Maximize Sales and drive Smart Spending through informed business decisions.
Begin to understand and recognize how the Business is managed from a financial perspective
- Gain understanding of existing Operational reporting and recommend other reporting capabilities across different areas of the business
- Make technical and process improvements to the forecasting and planning models
Work cross-functionally across all areas to gain business exposure
- Support with financial analysis to drive insightful business recommendations
- Participate in cross-functional forecast and planning meetings
THE LOGISTICS
- Internship Dates: May 12 - August 3, 2025 (12 weeks)
- Location: Vancouver, BC
- Successful candidates must be able to work at the primary work location and self-relocate if necessary
