Position Overview:
Centennial Optical Limited is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Systems Administrator to provide first-line technical support to our end users. This role is integral in ensuring seamless delivery of information services by promptly resolving interruptions and maintaining high end-user satisfaction.
As part of your responsibilities, you will work closely with the Team Lead – Systems Administration to manage and maintain critical infrastructure systems, ensuring reliable service for our business operations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide quality first-line technical support, diagnosing and resolving software/hardware-related issues for end users.
• Conduct research using available resources to address technical questions effectively.
• Perform hardware maintenance, including repairs and coordinating vendor services when necessary.
• Assist with the implementation of new software systems and updates.
• Escalate complex issues to management, ensuring timely resolution.
• Maintain accurate documentation of user interactions, resolutions, and inventory in the problem management database.
• Manage physical IT assets, including inventory of hardware, software, and licenses.
• Administer user accounts and groups for systems such as ERP and Active Directory.
• Maintain and update network user profiles, ensuring accurate supporting documentation.
• Stay current with IT technologies, system updates, and best practices.
• Proactively assess new IT products and developments using online resources, training, and publications.
• Maintain the health and functionality of:
- Active Directory domains
- Group Policy Objects
- DNS and DHCP services
- Antivirus software, including licensing
• Manage Windows updates for workstations and servers.
• Provide after-hours or weekend support for infrastructure tasks as required.
• Some travel may be necessary for remote site visits or troubleshooting.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in client service or a Desktop/PC support role.
• Proficient in LAN/WAN environments, TCP/IP, Active Directory, and Windows Server.
• Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems (Windows 7/10) and Microsoft Office (2013-2021).
• Familiarity with:
- Azure Active Directory and Office 365 email administration
- Microsoft Hyper-V clusters, SQL clustering, SAN infrastructure, and Veeam Backup (an asset)
- SIP-based phone systems (Mitel or Shoretel preferred)
- Microsoft Dynamics Navision (an asset)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with professional email and phone etiquette.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• A commitment to learning and continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with customer service best practices, including patience and a positive attitude.
• Professional certifications (an asset).
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for remote site visits.
