As an HR Associate (Disability Management), you will provide disability management services to assigned client divisions. Reporting to the Manager, Occupational Health, Safety and Disability Management, you will be a key member of a team of professionals providing a range of expertise, consultation and advice to management in client divisions on WSIB claims/disability management, policies and procedures. You are a team player with considerable knowledge of Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) claims management and return to work.
What will you do?
- Participate on a team of People and Equity professionals providing consultation and advice to Managers in all aspects of WSIB claim management including return to work processes/meetings, accommodation and work modification needs.
- Provide a broad range program support and coordination for all administrative functions related to WSIB, Disability Management and Occupational Health & Safety processes.
- Process confidential information and ensure deadlines are met, proper documentation is prepared/maintained, and procedures/ guidelines/policies are followed.
- Provide high level customer service to internal and external clients and other stakeholders.
- Liaise and communicate with Pension, Payroll and Employee Benefits staff, divisional staff, union representatives, and external stakeholders on People & Equity related issues.
- Verify, input and maintain data using a variety of computerized systems and software applications such as SAP and the City’s QuatroSafety data management and reporting system.
- Conduct research into assigned area.
What do you bring to the role?
- Post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in related discipline, (e.g. Human Resources, Disability Management, or Health & Safety), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in the disability management function, applying WSIB policies, practices, procedures and return to work/accommodation.
- Considerable experience with data management and reporting systems for disability management such as Quatro Safety or equivalent.
- Experience and working knowledge of obligations and requirements related to the Ontario Workplace Safety and Insurance Act and sound human resources practices and procedures with the ability to apply collective agreement obligations and related policies.
- Good communication, negotiation and consultation skills with a strong ability to work effectively with internal/external stakeholders and staff in a variety of situations, exercising discretion and good judgement with confidential information.
