Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Scale Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately weighing and recording the weight of incoming material while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. The ideal candidate should be able to identify and grade ferrous and nonferrous materials.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain scale equipment to ensure accurate measurements of materials.
- Record weight data for incoming shipments in accordance with company procedures.
- Assist in loading and unloading materials from trucks and containers
- Conduct routine inspections of scales and related equipment to maintain operational efficiency.
- Operate material shear and clean copper wire safely to move materials as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety regulations at all times.
- Criminal Background check required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a scrap metals warehouse environment is preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Experience operating heavy equipment, including forklifts and cranes, is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy packages (up to 50 pounds) as required by the role.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills for accurate data entry.
