We are looking for an
Analyst – Performance & NAV Management to join our Vancouver based
Investment Data & Analytics Team (IDA).
The Performance & NAV Management Team (PNM) resides within the middle office of Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group (CC&LFG) and is responsible for delivering timely and accurate NAV data and post-trade analytics that supports the investment management process of all CC&L affiliates. The team collaborates with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure NAV and performance reporting are effectively managed. What You’ll Be Doing
This role operates in a unique position, working closely with many internal business units as well as external fund custodians. Your work will consist of managing pooled fund net-asset-value (NAV) synchronization process for multiple fund managers and providing post trade analytics to both internal and external stakeholders. In addition to operational responsibilities, there are project and investigative aspects including continuous process improvement and ad-hoc problem solving in both an independent and collaborative setting. You are empowered to thrive as a process owner with both the creativity and responsibility that comes with delegation. You will have exposure to the whole investment operations business as you work with multiple partners including global investment managers, trade operations, portfolio compliance, and information technology.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Produce Daily and Monthly performance reports across multiple affiliates and products
- Manage the transitions process related to investment performance, which includes onboarding and communication around new products/clients, restructures and closing portfolios
- Synchronize pooled fund NAVs, which involves analyzing transactions and security pricing, connecting with external custodians and internal teams across all CC&L affiliates
- Produce timely and accurate investment data for key stakeholders and consultant database vendors
- Support ad-hoc data, reporting, RFP, DDQs and sales and marketing requests
- Develop and manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Proactively seek out and implement innovative process/workflow improvements to increase efficiency, mitigate risk, and increase the level of service
- Write and update procedure documentation as required
- Support the manager on a variety of ad-hoc tasks and projects
About You
- Education – You have a degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field. Completion of or enrollment in a relevant designation, such as CFA is an asset.
- Industry Knowledge – a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the investment management industry with exposure to investment performance analysis, reconciliation, or fund accounting is an asset.
- Problem Solver – You possess an analytical mindset and able to break down complex processes into components in order to logically deduce the root cause of issues.
- Collaborative – You have a collaborative spirit that helps you to work well with others and communicate effectively.
- Self-Motivated – You have a passion for advancing the quality, scale, and efficiency of data processes and taking ownership of multiple processes with keen attention to detail.
- Continuous Process Improvement Mindset – You constantly take a critical eye to processes with the goal of finding improvement opportunities while managing multiple responsibilities.
The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000. The salary range provided reflects the base salary range for this position as required by legislation. In addition, there is an annual performance bonus which contributes to the total compensation of this position. Further questions may be directed to the HR team during the interview process.
