What You’ll Be Doing
The goal of CIBC’s Capital Markets business is to be the premier client-focused Capital Markets based in Canada. To deliver on this, the capital markets arm of CIBC provides a wide range of credit, capital markets, investment banking, merchant banking and research products and services to government, institutional, corporate and retail clients in Canada and in key markets around the world.
Supporting the Global Markets Business Management team, you will be contributing to the Business Management function, including liaising with the business (front office) and across CIBC to ensure all business strategies/initiatives/projects/regulatory & compliance issues are addressed and resolved.
Working on the trading floor in our Toronto office with senior professionals in a progressive team environment, the successful candidate will complete tasks that impact the firm's bottom line, interacting directly with salespeople, traders, and infrastructure groups in a fast-paced environment.

How You’ll Succeed
- Client Strategy & Planning – Contribute to strategic and business planning by working with business managers. Assist in preparation of client strategies, preparation of client briefs for senior management meetings and coordination of client management activities.
- Execution Support - Work with Directors in partnering with infrastructure groups to implement business plans and execute strategic initiatives. Develop senior management and board presentations, presentations for onsite/offsite conferences, ad-hoc presentations and market and industry research with business managers and finance business support.
- Change Management – Assist the team to provide governance on Capital Markets change initiatives via the Change Initiative Risk Assessment (CIRA) process, including providing feedback to businesses, managing key stakeholders and leading administrative functions
- Governance & Compliance – Coordinate and attest to CIBC governance functions, and respond to auditor/regulator requests, finding and reports. Develop and implement improvements to internal procedures and practices including effective and documented internal control structure as evidenced by policies and procedures specific to the individual business activities
