What You Can Expect To Do Here
- Providing technical services in a field environment;
- Providing technical assistance in geology, infrastructure and mining related projects and tasks, including carrying out field testing, log and supervision that may include rock stress measurement, blast and vibration monitoring, ground support installation and rope access work.
- Performing construction site inspections and supervision
- Problem solving and decision making while in the field to progress project scope with regular communication/check-ins with the senior project team.
- Carrying out fieldwork, directing field work operations for subsurface investigations including layout, supervising drill rigs and/or excavators, logging soil and rock boreholes and test pits, rock face mapping, site surveying to determine elevations at specific locations, sampling soil, rock and groundwater, and preparing of detailed site sketches;
- Using survey equipment such as cavity scanners, sonar, drones, and surface surveying tools.
- Using specialized equipment and apparatus to prepare analyses, reports and/or technical drawings;
- Summarizing and analyzing findings from investigations to support report writing; and,
- Working with and providing support to other members of the group in assisting with other field and office activities as required.

- College Diploma in a Civil Engineering Technician / Technology, Construction Engineering Technician / Technology, Mining Engineering Technician / Technology or Geology Technician / Technology, preferably with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering;
- Previous experience working as a geotechnical or mining technician is an asset;
- A vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage and hold a valid driver’s license. Experience in driving off road is an asset;
- Experience of working in team with a positive attitude and working independently.
- Critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making are key attributes since projects are often investigative type work.
- Experiences in working outdoors since this role can include working in remote locations in northern Ontario and Quebec
- Availability to work in remote area on a rotation basis.
- Personal fitness that allows safe lifting of equipment (minimum 15kgs)
- An ownership attitude, initiative, enthusiasm, a desire to continually learn and grow, a detail and quality focus, good judgement, a good work ethic, adaptability and good communication skills.
