Job Description
We are seeking a
Junior Pension Administrator to join our BPA team in
Toronto, ON and Mississauga, ON.
The Junior Pension Administrator works in a team environment and assists with the ongoing administration of their client’s pension plans.
The Junior Pension Administrator will:
- Perform clerical work for the team, including organizing/logging mail, filing, and finalizing of member documents.
- Prepare option or authorization packages for death, disability, retirement, termination, and marriage breakdown in accordance with specific Plan provisions, government legislation requirements, and current service standards.
- Investigate and prepare draft letters in reply to queries from members.
- Monitor custodian financial statements to ensure that benefits, deposits, and expenses have been paid correctly in accordance with instructions.
- Maintain up-to-date records, both paper and electronic, of all transactions processed and records for members.
- Assist in preparation of client administration reports.
- Investigate and respond to member inquiries.
- Monitor custodian financial statements and participate in data reconciliations.
- Determine entitlements on death, retirement, and terminations in accordance with specific Plan provisions, government legislation requirements, and current service standards.
- Authorize payment of benefit entitlements and plan expenses from Custodian.
- Participate in other duties and projects, as assigned.
To be successful as a Junior Pension Administrator with BPA, you will need :
- Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent secondary education.
- Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
- Intermediate MS Excel skills (formatting, build/interpret pension calculators, data analysis functions).
- Intermediate MS Word skills (formatting, word merge and conditional wording).
- Excellent and proven organization skills.
- Adaptability and flexibility in changing work environments and tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- To maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive member information in accordance with privacy regulations.
- Strong communication skills, written and oral.
- Excellent work ethic and accountability.
All-star candidates will have:
- Bilingual: English & French (Written & Spoken) is considered an asset.
- Previous related work experience within pension administration.
