Overview
We are seeking a passionate and creative Art Teacher to inspire and educate students in the art of expression through various mediums. This is for our after school art program that we offer in elementary schools from 3:00 - 4:30pm. The ages of the children are from 6 - 10 yrs. old. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with children, fostering their creativity and artistic skills in a supportive classroom environment. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and nurturing young minds through the arts.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement engaging art lesson plans that cater to different skill levels and learning styles.
Educate students on various artistic techniques, materials, and concepts while encouraging individual expression.
Create a positive classroom atmosphere that promotes creativity, collaboration, and respect among students.
Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their artistic abilities.
Organize art exhibitions or showcases to display students' work and celebrate their achievements.
Collaborate with other educators to integrate art into the broader curriculum.
Maintain an organized and safe classroom environment, ensuring all materials are properly stored and accessible.

Experience

Proven experience in early childhood education or a related field is highly desirable.
Strong background in various art forms, including painting, drawing, sculpture, and mixed media.
Experience working with children in a classroom setting or through tutoring is preferred.
Ability to create lesson plans that are both educational and enjoyable for students.
Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
A passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering creativity in young learners.
