Virtrapy is a newly established, fully online psychotherapy centre offering both general and specialized therapy services to individuals across Ontario. Our mission is to serve a diverse population through client-centred and affordable care.
We are currently inviting dedicated practitioners to join our team as Associate Therapists. As co-initiators, you will play a vital role in fulfilling the growing demand for high-quality therapy services.

As a new service, we are focused on building a strong foundation before promoting our services to the public. While we are in the early stages and currently building our client base, we are committed to creating meaningful caseloads as we grow and expand our reach. For this reason, we are currently hiring on a casual basis to ensure flexibility for our practitioners during this initial phase.
About Our Services
We offer two streams of psychotherapy services across Ontario:
- General Services -Our core offerings, provided by Associate Therapists, include Regular Therapy (mid to long-term therapy) and Quick Therapy (short-term therapy).
- Specialized Services -Our advanced offerings, provided by Therapy Specialists, focus on five specialized areas and typically involve mid to long-term therapy.
About the Position
We are seeking dedicated Registered Social Workers (ON) and Registered Psychotherapists (ON) to join our team. As an Associate Therapist, you’ll be a cornerstone of our client care team, offering a range of services, including:
- Building meaningful therapeutic relationships with diverse clients.
- Conducting compassionate, solution-focused 20-minute consultations to understand participants’ needs.
- Creating personalized therapeutic plans tailored to each client’s journey.
- Providing virtual therapy (video, voice, or text) to individuals, couples, and families in our General Service streams.
- Referring and collaborating with teammates to ensure clients receive the best possible care.
- Keeping track of client progress through professional, thoughtful documentation.

Pay
We're proud to offer a fixed fee-sharing model that rewards your dedication, experience, and commitment to client care.
- During your first year, the centre charges a flat fee of $35 per session.
- This rate decreases by $2.50 each subsequent year, reaching $30 per session by your third year with us.
We value the skills and expertise you bring to our team. If you have previous clinical experience as a Registered Social Worker (RSW) or Registered Psychotherapist (RP), we’ll factor that into your starting fee rate.
Here’s what this looks like in practice for first-year therapists without prior experience:
- For our $115 50-minute individual session, you will receive $80 (~70%).
- For our $215 80-minute non-individual session, you will receive $180 (~84%).
By offering affordable session costs for clients, we ensure mental health care is accessible while also providing one of the best fee-split percentages in the field. It’s our way of supporting you as you support others.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in a mental health-related field (Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, etc.).
- Full registration and good standing as a R.S.W. or R.P. in Ontario.
- Experience with at least one evidence-based psychotherapy modality.
- Confidence and comfort delivering therapy through video, voice, and text.
- Commitment to inclusivity, equity, and social justice.
- Basic computer proficiency
- Basic computer skills and access to a private, confidential workspace with high-speed internet and a secure computer.
Bonus Skills and Assets:
- Training or experience in virtual therapy (video, voice, or text).
- Expertise in quick therapy techniques (e.g., SFBT, intensive CBT).
- Skills in couple and family therapy.
- Bilingualism (French, Cantonese, Mandarin, or other languages).
