The Cat’s Meow is Toronto’s iconic boutique for Vintage Couture & Modern Luxury consignment since 2006. We curate, source and authenticate high-quality, pre-owned products from luxury brands such as Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada and Chanel and sell them to our customers in Yorkville & online. We also specialize in beautiful vintage dresses spanning from the 1940’s-1990’s. The shop serves a wide, diverse clientele. From discerning vintage collectors to young girls on the hunt for their first prom dress. It has become a “first stop” for industry insiders, designers, film/television, press & media stylists searching for inspiration.
Following our steady growth, we are looking for a highly energetic, responsible, and experienced full time sales associate and shop keeper.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive Sales.
- Provide an exceptional customer service experience by assisting customers & exceeding their needs.
- Demonstrate an excellent knowledge of the products.
- Build long-term relationships with customers.
- Support cleanliness and maintenance of physical store to create a safe and comfortable shopping experience.
- Meet or exceed daily and monthly sales goals.
- Answering phone calls in a timely and polite manner.
- Greeting and welcoming customers to the boutique.
- Styling complete looks.
- uploading products to our website.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 2 years of proven retail experience in a similar role, preferably with a luxury retailer.
- Lifelong learner with strong critical thinking skills and excellent time management.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and intercultural skills.
- Ability to maintain presence on selling floor for long periods as needed.
- organization and follow-through skills a must.
- Previous work in a consignment environment considered an asset.
- Proven ability to sell big ticket items.
- Proven experience in customer satisfaction.
- Self motivated to work independently with strong problem identification skills.
- Ability to lift in excess of 20 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, stretch, engage in repetitive motions, push, pull, and carry items (mannequins, clothings, totes, racks, etc.) for short distances.
- Willingness to dust, sweep, vacuum, mop and clean washrooms.
- Ability to climb a ladder and use a step stool.
- Excellent communicate skills, both oral and written, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be available to work weekends plus 3 weekdays.
