Job Requirements
· Previous experience in retail, customer service, or a related field is preferred but not required.
· Ability to work a flexible schedule according to the store’s hours, including weekends, holidays, and peak sale periods.
· A passion for animals and basic knowledge of pet care is highly desirable.
Job Summary
Customer Service:
· Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly, approachable manner.
· Help customers with product inquiries, offer personalized advice, and assist in selecting the best pet supplies for their pets’ needs.
Product Knowledge:
· Maintain a thorough understanding of the store’s product range, including pet food, toys, grooming products, accessories, and health products.
Sales Assistance:
· Assist customers with making purchases, processing transactions at the register, and handling payments via cash, credit or debit cards.
· Accurately process returns, exchanges and refunds according to the store’s policies.
Inventory and Stock Management:
· Monitor inventory levels and restock shelves as necessary to ensure products are readily available for customers.
· Organize and maintain product displays and ensure that all labels on products are front facing to keep the store neat, tidy and visually appealing.
Promotions and Sales Goals:
· Promote store sales, special offers, discounts, and new product arrivals to encourage customer purchases.
· Contribute to achieving store sales targets and enhancing the overall customer experience.
Store Cleanliness:
· Maintain a clean and organized store environment by regularly dusting and disinfecting shelves, hoovering floors at the end of the day.
· Ensure that the store constantly meets the health and safety standards, for both customers and pets.
Order and Stock Control:
· Assist with receiving deliveries and checking product shipments for accuracy and damages.
· Ensure all incoming stock is labelled and priced correctly and stored in the designated areas.
Team Collaboration:
· Work effectively with other store team members to maintain smooth operations, meet sales targets and provide a positive shopping experience.
· Support team efforts to manage store operations and improve customer satisfaction.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.62 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
