Senior Discovery Tours, the leader in fully escorted, all-inclusive group tours for the 55+ traveller is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Travel Consultant/Receptionist that is passionate about travel to join our team at the Toronto office.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
This pivotal role at our Toronto office primarily focuses on Travel Consultant responsibilities, requiring expertise in tour itineraries, sales, and client account management. Additionally, you will contribute to administrative tasks to ensure seamless office operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Travel Consultant:
- Accurately advise clients about tour itineraries in person, and by phone and email.
- Be knowledgeable and accurately advise clients about insurance
- Sell itineraries and book clients on tour
- Manage Client accounts and process payments, maintaining accurate payment records
- Communicate courteously and punctually with clients by mail and email, sending relevant tour and insurance documents
- Work with hotel vendors to book clients when necessary
- Coordinate with other consultants, air department and operations as needed in completing all functions related to assisting the client
As Receptionist:
- Serve as the face of the company when greeting clients, vendors and walk-ins
- Answer general questions from clients
- Answer phones in a professional manner, reroute calls and take messages when necessary
- Sort and distribute the mail
- Mail out brochures
- Manage and ship packages via various courier companies
- Maintain office organization including filing, organizing, restocking, etc.
- Manage inventory of office and kitchen supplies
- Performing ad-hoc administrative duties
- Provide excellent customer service
Ideal Candidate:
- Must have travel industry experience
- Able to contribute positively as part of a team, helping out with various tasks as required
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with administrative and clerical procedures
- Good time management skills
- Prior experience as a receptionist or in a related field
JOB TYPE:
Full-time. Must be able to work in the Toronto office at 225 Eglinton Ave. West, from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Candidate must have prior travel work experience, be TICO certified and legally able to work in Canada.
