**This position is ahybrid role based out of our Toronto Downtown or Toronto West Office**
About You
The Communications Intern provides external and internal communications in support of Brokerage Services Canada reporting to the Director, Communications.
The opportunity will gain exposure to Canada-wide communications initiatives for our Brokerage business, including but not limited to public relations, web content, social media, and employee communications. The Communications Intern will be expected to draft communications materials (social media posts, web content articles, media pitches, memos, etc.), edit materials (internal communications, etc.), media monitor/news tracking, and recommend improvements using creativity and forethought.
In this role, you will..

Draft web content articles by connecting with sales advisors/brokers, interviewing them on completed or newly launch transactions, and crafting a concise and engaging narrative.

Draft social media content for Brokerage Services Canada, working collaboratively with Digital Marketing to post materials.

Coordinate and schedule interviews with Colliers experts and journalists at the direction of the Director, Communications or the Senior Director, Corporate Communications.

Monitor, analyze, track metrics related to PR results and Colliers articles on a monthly basis.

Assist in drafting media pitches, communications playbooks, and internal communications for senior executives.

Build relationships with Brokerage Leadership and Advisors across Canada with the assistance of the Director, Communications to establish a pipeline and flow of information for content and PR.

Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends (commercial real estate and communications) and make appropriate communications strategy recommendations.

All other requests and tasks as assigned by the Director, Communications
What you'll bring

Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field; post-graduate studies in Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Marketing/Business, preferred.

Strong writing & editing skills, including experience with Canadian Press style.

Well-versed in using different communications mediums written, video, social media etc. and the platforms associated including Microsoft Office Suite, Hootsuite, etc.

Must demonstrate creativity and self-motivation in the execution and completion of accountabilities.

Strong organizational and project management skills.

Friendly, empathetic interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage effectively with people from various levels within the organization.

Previous public relations, communications, marketing, business, customer service, or real estate experience is considered an asset.

Bilingual (EN/FR) applicants strongly encouraged to apply.
