Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Taper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drywall finishing and be adept at preparing surfaces for painting. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Taper will be responsible for ensuring that all taping and finishing work meets high-quality standards, contributing to the overall success of our projects.

Responsibilities

Apply tape to joints and seams of drywall to create a smooth surface for painting.
Measure and cut tape accurately, ensuring proper alignment and coverage.
Fill joints with compound and smooth surfaces using trowels or knives.
Sand finished surfaces to achieve a uniform finish ready for painting.
Collaborate with other construction professionals, including carpenters and painters, to ensure project timelines are met.
Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications and requirements.
Perform caulking around windows, doors, and other openings as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements

Proven experience in construction painting or drywall finishing is preferred.
Familiarity with blueprint reading is essential for understanding project layouts.
Skills in caulking and general maintenance person tasks will be beneficial.
Ability to work independently while also being a team player.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require lifting, standing, or kneeling for extended periods.
A valid driver's license may be required depending on job site locations.
