Position Overview:

The Account Coordinator will be actively involved in all areas of account services and execution for Nine Point Agency clients. Primarily, the ideal candidate will work with local and national lifestyle, fashion and beauty, wellness, design, food & beverage, travel, news and business media to secure coverage in identified publications and to support all client goals. Tasks will include assisting with coordinating event logistics, drafting and executing pitching and other media outreach activities, developing databases, assembling press kits, research, preparing detailed tracking reports and client administrative duties.

Key Accountabilities:

Nurturing client relationships and account management

Develop and nurture client relationships by providing exceptional service
Monitoring activities on all accounts and following up on item statuses with other team members
Attend and actively participate in client meetings
Be highly accountable and responsive to client needs

Strategy Planning Support

Contribute to administrative tasks and research to contribute to strategic plans for clients. This includes communications plans, strategy plans, social media playbooks, PR calendars, event briefs and more, under the guidance of a senior manager.
Assist with creating monthly and/or annual PR calendars and workbacks with client deadlines and project deliverables

Proactively seek out and engage in PR and media relations opportunities

Proficient in copywriting of press materials including press releases and pitches, with direction from Account Lead, Account Manager, Senior Account Manager or Director.
Conduct media outreach activities including proactive media pitches, pitch calls, media press trips, media hosting and events as directed
Identify new coverage opportunities and media contacts for all clients
Support on-site activations, event planning and coordination
Develop and maintain strategic alliances with local groups and organizations to promote and involve stakeholders in the community on behalf of Nine Point Agency (i.e. charity organizations, tourism bureaus, photographers, etc.)
Pitch and facilitate select media individuals and FAMs
Pitch and coordinate media editorials; arrange interviews and briefings; escort photo shoots; and facilitate fact checks and image requests
Support the team with involvement in PR plan creation / initiatives and ideas

Execute influencer campaigns

Execute influencer campaigns (paid and unpaid) as assigned by senior manager, including coordination, outreach and negotiation of contracts
Execute influencer mailers
Monitor and track influencer engagement and sharing campaign recaps with clients
Identify new influencer opportunities and contacts for all clients

Contribute to client and agency social media

Contribute to social media networks (ie. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn) for Nine Point Agency and clients as directed
Monitor the latest social media trends and advancements for the team

Act as a contributing member of Nine Point Agency’s team

Mentor, support, and provide guidance to agency interns
Actively participate in team brainstorms and attend team meetings and socials
Demonstrate a high awareness and commitment to the team and offer support at all times

New business support

Contribute to business development ideas at team meetings and utilize networks and relationships to identify opportunities
Contribute to new business proposal brainstorms and support with deck design and content as directed by senior team
Assist with research and outreach for new incubator clients and press preview participants
Business development mentorship will be provided by the senior team

Provide timely reporting and administrative deliverables

Develop and manage highly detailed databases with accuracy and prepare detailed tracking reports
Conduct research and write, prepare and edit press materials, client collateral and other documents as needed
Prepare detailed end-of-month, end-of-year and project update reports for clients

Perform other duties as required

Office administration
Keeping office tidy (clean kitchen and desk after use, run dishwasher, ensure showroom looks polished etc)
Assisting with ordering and maintaining office supplies

Job Qualifications:

Education

Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Creative Writing, or other relevant discipline
Relative experience (i.e. 2 + years) can be considered in lieu of educational requirements

Experience

1-2 years of related experience, either in a marketing, PR, sales or other relevant capacity or promotion from an internal intern position
Experience as an intermediate/advanced user of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.) and Google Workspace
Keen and genuine interest in lifestyle, beauty, fashion, design, food, wine and cannabis
Eagerness to continue learning about PR, social media, digital marketing and strategy (trends, new developments)
Experience working with media across Canada and in wider North America with established contacts and relationships in media, lifestyle, hospitality, corporate and event planning is an asset
Experience working with influencers (paid / unpaid collaborations, pitching / outreach, negotiation) is an asset
Experience using Cision, Press Reader, Lefty, Mac OX, MRP, Photoshop and Pages is an asset
