Fresh City is an award-winning urban farm and omni-channel retailer. Founder-led, we’re on a mission to help people better the world through their food choices. What you will be doing:
- Match products with their respective packing slips to ensure accurate shipping and receiving.
- Accurately weigh items before packaging them using appropriate packing materials and techniques.
- Inspect produce and other items for defects or deviations from specifications to maintain product integrity.
- Ensure that received stock is correctly stored in the designated area, and routinely rotate stock to prioritize older inventory for shipment.
- Efficiently load products into packing line fridges and freezers, ensuring optimal storage conditions.
- General Warehouse Duties: This includes but is not limited to cleaning and maintaining work areas, safely operating warehouse equipment, and assisting in inventory counts.
- Work closely with other departments and team members to ensure efficient workflow and to address any discrepancies or issues.
- Adhere to all company safety guidelines and procedures, and report any unsafe conditions or potential hazards.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to improve packing processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of packed items, returned products, and any discrepancies or issues that arise during the packing process.
What you will bring to the table:
- Prior experience in a warehouse or packing environment is preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to work in refrigerator and freezer environments.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic math skills for accurate weighing and measuring.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and the use of packing equipment.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
