What You Will Do
Gannett Fleming Canada is looking an experienced construction management professional for the role of
Construction Coordinator to join our project team in
Timmins, Temiskaming or Bracebridge, ON.
The
Construction Coordinator will assist in the management of transportation construction projects for our Clients in the GTHA.
Our construction management and inspection capabilities satisfy the most selective clients. We effectively control our clients’ costs, deliver their projects on time, and meet strict regulatory needs while maintaining long-lasting relationships from the pre-construction stage until long after project completion.

Responsibilities
- Supports Manager and project teams in organizing, performing, tracking, and reporting project activities
- Scheduling, understand, reviews, tracks progress and communicates progress to managers and team members
- Communicates, organizes, and coordinates between all internal and external stakeholders
- Understands, tracks, and participates in the quality management procedures for the project
- Manage and monitor timelines related to submissions or review process by email notification and reminders
- Coordinate project administrative functions, shop drawing control, change order control
- Reviews submissions after review by the Designer for conformance with the contract documents prior to returning to the Contractor
- Track, monitors and expedites submittals to ensure that they are reviewed and returned within the contract timelines, submittals will include, shop drawings, RFI’s, change orders and progress payments
- Efficiently manages the Contract submittal process
- Attend meetings, as required, take minutes, distribute minutes of meeting, follow-up on actions
- Report preparation and drafting of correspondence
- Interface between various internal project Teams
- Establish a safety-first culture for all construction project
Education | Experience:
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 3-8 years’ experience in Construction and Contract Administration
- Civil Engineering Degree or Civil Engineering Technologist or Technician Diploma and related experience
- Working towards or gained P.Eng Status or O.A.C.E.T.T Certification as an Engineering Technologist
- Knowledge in all relevant areas of construction, and understanding of various design and construction methods
- Proficient at reading and understanding technical drawings and specifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Regulations for Construction Projects, and Quality Assurance and Control programs for construction projects
- Experience with transit agency (e.g. TTC, Metrolinx) is preferred
- Demonstrated on-site construction administration experience in construction of transit, commercial and municipal infrastructure.
- Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience on large scale transit projects or transportation infrastructure
- Must be comfortable in both professional office and field work environments
- Proficient in MS Word / Excel / Outlook and project scheduling tools.
- Knowledge of pertinent federal, provincial, and local laws, codes, and regulations as they apply to transit operations.
- Skill in documenting and assessing field conditions, RFI’s and change orders.
- Excellent listening, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience in directing technical field staff including inspectors.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- Valid driver’s license required; this position requires use of personal vehicle in good working order.
- Flexibility to travel to construction sites for extended periods and work outside of normal business hours.
