What you’ll be doing
You will join CIBC Commercial Banking's National Industry Programs Group ("NIPG") to provide support for the NIPG team's daily operations, focusing on Franchise primarily with exposure and additional support to the Business Services and Healthcare industry verticals. In your role, you will also be responsible for supporting the business development and portfolio management goals of CIBC Commercial Banking Market Teams across Canada, as part of a training and development role designed for candidates interested in pursing a career within CIBC Commercial Banking.
This role will prepare you for a rewarding career as a Relationship Manager, Commercial Banking and strategic partner to Canada’s leading companies. How you’ll succeed

Develop expertise in industry programs - Develop expertise in industry programs through exposure to asset-light, cash flow-based lending practices and to companies and industries that profile as a fit with CIBC's risk appetite. To develop this expertise, you will be exposed to all NIPG team processes involving program development, deployment, and maintenance.

Business development and relationship management support – Assist Commercial Banking Market Teams across Canada in coordinating activities related to NIPG Programs through the sales cycle and liaising with other units of CIBC as necessary. Assist with the execution of business development initiatives and contribute to the achievement of Commercial Banking growth targets by identifying business opportunities and working with the Market Teams to develop financing solutions to meet the needs of the client. Support NIPG industry outreach and business development activities through direct meeting participation and in-market interaction/exposure to clients, COI’s, industry associations, and industry trade events.

Research and evaluation – Assist in evaluating business growth opportunities through comprehensive industry, client and prospect research. Prepare analyses in support of credit submissions including structuring and documentation.

Client experience - Working in partnership with the Commercial Banking Market Teams, proactively client/prospect needs and propose solutions to meet those needs. Interact with clients and prospects to facilitate prompt responses to questions, enquiries or issues in order to provide “best in class” service. Apply acquired industry/company knowledge to the development of client/prospect proposals for financial and strategic solutions to meet client needs.

You can demonstrate experience in financial statements and accounting principles including valuation techniques and cash flow analysis.

You have a degree/diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
