Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated part-time teachers for English, French, Math, and Science to join our team at Selis Learning Academy in Burnaby. This role requires in-person teaching, with candidates expected to commute to our Burnaby campuses.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons in French, Math, or Science.
- Prepare lesson plans and educational materials in line with the curriculum.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and technologies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the continuous improvement of the academy's educational programs.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Mathematics, Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience teaching French, English, Math, and/or Science to students in grades 1-12.
- Strong knowledge of the BC curriculum and educational standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth.
- Experienced fourth-year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
- Graduate students with subject knowledge are welcome to apply.
- Valid BC teaching certification is an asset but not required.
- Must be able to commute to the Burnaby location.
Schedule
- 2-3 times a week
- 4-6 hour shifts each day
- Available shifts in afternoons, and evenings
- Monday to Friday
- Saturday & Sunday availability
Salary and Benefits
