Job purpose
Oxford International Education Group, a global leader in private education, is looking for an organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team in our Vancouver office. This position starts part-time with the potential to transition into a full-time role. You will be responsible for managing and processing our accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and other parties. You will play a key role in maintaining our financial records and supporting our monthly closing procedures.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Process invoices for payment via cheque, EFT or other
· Manage credit card transactions
· Liaises with vendors and other parties as required
· Records expenses and other transactions to accounting software
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
· Reviews transactions for compliance with company approval procedures
· Files all physical invoices and receipts
· Contribute to monthly closing procedures and reporting
· Assist with WCB filing and other reports
· Perform bank deposits and assist with managing incoming student payments
· Collaborate with other finance team members on tasks and reports as necessary
· Complete additional assignments or duties as needed
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma & currently pursuing a Diploma in Accounting or a Degree
· Proven experience in accounts payable or a related field
· Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
· Experience with Sage 50 or other similar accounting software (ex. Quickbooks)
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel
· Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
· High attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
