What You’ll Be Doing
CIBC’s Process Engineering, Intelligent Automation, End to End Optimization, and Complaints Management Program Data & Insights Teams are hiring several students for a 16-month Co-op (PEY)! This is a great opportunity to be a part of highly collaborative, agile team-based environment, solving problems to create meaningful change across the enterprise. Join our team and stretch your innovative thinking skills to help enhance the banking experience for the modern world.
- PE Team: Serve as internal consultants managing projects across the business. You'll use Lean, Six Sigma, BPM, and project management to improve client processes.
- IA Team: Collaborate with technology and business partners to enhance automation efficiency. You'll apply analytics and reporting skills to streamline business intelligence for the automation portfolio.
- E2E Team: Analyze process activities as part of the end-to-end operational transformation team. Support business process optimization using no- or low-tech improvements to enhance overall performance.
- CMP Team: Transform the complaint handling journey for clients and employees. You’ll leverage Lean, Six Sigma, and human-centered design, while employing advanced analysis for data-driven solutions.

- This posting is for current STEM/ Engineering undergraduate students in their 3rd or 4th year of study only. Candidates must be eligible to complete a full 16-month co-op term. You must be currently enrolled in post-secondary education and returning to full-time studies to be eligible.

How You’ll Succeed
- Innovation - You’ll participate in process mapping, statistics evaluation, time studies, operations center visits, and interviews, to understand the current state and to design future state processes.
- Simplification - You’ll spend time assessing current CIBC processes and making suggestions to reduce costs and decrease cycle time. You will apply VBA, Power Query, and Power BI for data analysis and creating innovative analytical solutions.
- Teamwork - You’ll collaborate with team members and stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions.
- Communication - You’ll define project requirements and prepare project summary reports (e.g., post-implementation reviews and data gathering from operations center visits).
- Change Agent - You are aware of AI (traditional and generative) and have ability to apply AI concepts to improve processes and improve your own personal productivity.
- Accuracy- You’ll document detailed current state maps, conducting process analysis, and designing future state process and client journey flows using Microsoft Visio and other process mapping tools.
- Detail – You’ll use your skills to gather, clarify and apply information provided accurately and your critical thinking skills help you inform your decision making.
