Job Description:
We are looking for an individual who gets excited about building web maps and wants to apply their skills in coding and GIS to help develop and maintain data management systems for our Natural Resource and Utilities clients. In this role you will primarily be responsible for the following:
- Creating, testing and reviewing ArcGIS Online maps and apps
- Publishing and maintaining ArcGIS Server web services
- Using Python, SQL, or other scripting language to develop tools and perform tasks
- Spatial data management
- Managing incoming field collected data from clients and staff
- Converting, importing, managing, and manipulating data from a variety of sources
- Performing QA/QC tasks to ensure GIS data integrity
- Troubleshooting issues related to GIS and web-based mapping systems
Qualifications:
- A minimum of one year of GIS experience working on web-mapping projects
- Formal education in GIS with a background in Geography, Computer Science, or other relevant area
- Experience developing tools on the Esri or QGIS platforms
- Relational database experience, especially with PostgreSQL/PostGIS, will be considered an asset
- Experience programming and scripting using Python, SQL, JavaScript, or Arcade
- Excellent data management and cartographic skills
- Strong reasoning and troubleshooting abilities with attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to customer service
- Canadian citizenship or legally qualified to work in Canada
Compensation:
- The hourly range is between $30-$35 and will be commensurate with experience.
