The key role for this Parks Canada team is to deliver outreach programs to diverse audiences in Metro Vancouver and along Coastal BC. Through the development and delivery of innovative programs and interactive presentations, the team encourages the public to connect with Canada’s rich history, experience the outdoors, and learn more about our environment and heritage.

On the Vancouver branch of this national team, expect to be running outreach booths, teaching workshops, and running weekend-long overnight camping programs. If you have an interest in learning new outdoor and camping skills, and sharing that passion for learning with others, this job is for you!
Important to note: This is a dynamic job where you get to meet a lot of amazing and diverse people, and as such it requires you to be adaptable in the moment to changing priorities. You must be comfortable working a flexible schedule including some weekends in May, and all weekends in June-August. One day you may be working virtually from 8:00am-4:00pm, the next you may be working in person from 12:00pm-8:00pm and the next you may be camping out under the stars with a group of new campers!
2. Southern Resident Killer Whale Outreach Team - anticipated number of positions: 2
️ Our mission is to promote the conservation efforts of the endangered Southern Resident Killer Whales. Through working with other government agencies on rules and regulations, and engaging the public through virtual media and in-person approachable dialogue, we aim to inspire action in recreational boat operators, fishers, and the general public alike. If you’re a strong communicator with a knack for talking about complicated topics then this is the job for you!
Important to note: The responsibilities of this role are highly varied, so expect to be spending some days outside connecting with hundreds of members of the public in all weather types, as well as some days working independently entirely on the computer, and some days doing something in-between! You will be required to work some weekends in May and all weekends in June-August, and will need to have flexibility in which days off you receive. This job requires comfortability riding a provided e-bike around Vancouver, and being away from Vancouver for up to 5 days at a time on paid work excursions.
