WINE STORE ASSOCIATE
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform cashier and customer service duties.
- Operate cash register to process cash, debit and credit card transactions.
- Sign for and count float.
- Balance cash to register totals.
- Perform inventory checks and reconcile against computer information to identify loss of stock.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding products; provide product recommendations and upselling of products.
- Set up promotional displays.
- Stock shelves with cases and bottles as required.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the store through dusting, sweeping and cleaning up broken glass, and spillage.
- Assist in ordering liquor and supplies.
- Perform various side duties as assigned by the Store Manager and/or Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Wine & beer knowledge preferred but not necessary, but interest and enthusiasm far outweigh industry experience.
- Previous retail experience an asset.
- Work well independently and in a small team environment.
- Willingness to learn and grow.
- Physically able to lift wine boxes and stock shelves (35 lbs.).
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office.
- Must have Serving it Right certificate.
- Energetic, respectful, polite with strong customer service skills.
- Attention to detail with respect to store maintenance and merchandising.
- Willingness to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, night closing shift may go as late as 12am.
- Absolutely trustworthy and accurate with respect to cash handling procedures.
