Responsibilities
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Coordinates and provides a diverse array of administrative responsibilities, and supports CMBC EDI on daily activities, programs, projects, and initiatives. Responds to inquiries and research information.
Key Accountabilities
Performs a variety of daily clerical and administrative tasks to support EDI programs, projects and initiatives which include but are not limited to Employee Engagement opportunities, EDI presence at depots, Policy and Field Research, Surveys and Data Collection, Outreach and Communications, amongst other activities.
Assists with implementation of EDI programs and initiatives, which may include drafting correspondence, coordinating materials, meetings, workshops, events, and assisting with facilitating sessions.
Assists in the creation and delivery of EDI training and educational materials for distribution to CMBC employees and teams at various locations. Attends and delivers EDI information sessions to teams across CMBC.
Assist in navigating difficult EDI-related conversations, resistance to EDI, and provide advice, recommendations, and educational follow up for complaint resolution.
Supports the implementation of metrics and evaluation tools to measure the effectiveness of EDI programs and initiatives.
Conducts research on best practices and emerging trends in EDI and provide recommendations for program enhancements.
Collects data and feedback from CMBC teams and employees to support the development and enhancement of our EDI programs, initiatives, and sessions.
Assists in the preparation of reports and presentations on EDI initiatives for senior leadership.
Collaborates with enterprise Communications and EDI teams in rolling out CMBC EDI communications and initiatives.
Supports communications and relationship-building with external organizations and community groups that align with our EDI goals.
Applies knowledge of organizational policies and collective agreement provisions when responding to employee queries and seeks clarification and/or guidance as required.
Provides ad hoc support as required on various EDI functions and projects.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The competencies for the position would be acquired through completion of a Diploma in Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, Social Justice, EDI or a related field, plus two (2) years of related experience in a human resource or EDI environment, giving preference to exposure in a unionized environment.
Other Requirements
Solid working knowledge and understanding of EDI concepts, principles, theories and practices.
Intermediate to advanced skills with MS programs including Word, PowerPoint and Excel and working knowledge of PeopleSoft.
Experience and strong skills in navigating difficult EDI-related conversations, resistance to EDI, and in high pressure environments.
Solid written and verbal communication skills.
Solid time management skills and demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, prioritize, multi-task, and able to meet multiple deadlines.
Strong organizational and analytical skills, to effectively research, coordinate and, analyze, a variety of information.
Solid problem solving and decision-making skills.
Demonstrates initiative and can work independently.
Demonstrated discretion and confidentiality is essential to be able to assess requests for private information and to be able to deny or escalate such requests, if required.
Other Information
Ability to travel to various CMBC depot locations on a regular basis is preferred.
Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.

37.5 hours per week.

This position offers the flexibility of working both on-site and remotely within B.C.
Rate of Pay
Salary $64,000 - $96,000 per annum (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).
